The City of Aurora is a Home Rule Municipality in the State of Colorado, spanning Arapahoe and Adams counties, with the extreme southeastern portion of the city extending into Douglas County. Why Is Whiteboard Animation So Effective?

 

We know there are many ways to make a video, so why is it that whiteboard animation stands head and shoulders above the rest?

 

It Starts with Drawing

 

With this medium, drawing is the defining characteristic, and when it comes to visual communication, drawing is one of the oldest forms. In fact, some cave drawings are more than 30,000 years old, which shows that long before the invention of paper, pottery, or even farming, drawings were used to communicate ideas. How This Plumbing Company Doubled Their Sales Overnight with a Website

 

Dillan finished twisting the last part into place, settling his tools down before sliding out from beneath the sink. Mr. Wilson, the homeowner, was sitting at the kitchen table. "What's the prognosis?"

 

"You didn't do too much damage trying to fix it yourself. It should be just fine now. If there are any problems call me and I'll come out and set it right." He began to pack up his tools as Mr. Wilson went to grab his credit card. Dillan had been a little suspicious of the card readers that attach to his cell phone, but once he realized how useful it could be he'd embraced it wholeheartedly. It just made his job that much easier.

 

Mr. Wilson paid him and said, "I wish I had called you sooner. I was looking for plumbers in town but couldn't find any information about you. My neighbor ended up recommending you."

 

"I have an ad in the yellow book, and I think I have a website." Dillan replied, trying to think about the last time he'd made any updates to his marketing.

 

"Yeah, I remember seeing a result for you, but when I clicked on it the website wouldn't load." Mr. Wilson said.

 

"Oh, I'll check that out." replied Dillan. Mr. Wilson thanked him again and Dillan headed out to his next job. The rest of his clients were folks he'd worked with since he started his plumbing business ten years ago. However, he had noticed that a lot of people were moving into the community due to new job opportunities in the nearby big city, but very few were calling for his services. He wondered if they were having a problem finding him.

 

Settling down at the small computer desk in the corner of his living room he tapped the spacebar to wake up the machine. His fingers clicked the keys of his keyboard as he tried to find the website his cousin had made for him years ago. He tried the name of his business, his own name, and searched for plumbing in his area. He could find himself on third party services where people seemed pleased with his service, but they were not pages he could control. Ultimately, he had to dig through several pages of results before he found his own web page.

 

When he clicked on it, all he found was his web host saying that the page no longer existed. What? he thought. Dillan tried to login and found that his domain name had expired years ago. There was a view of what his website used to look like, but it was filled with flashing graphics and bright colors that even he was annoyed by now. Luckily, no one had bought his domain name, but he was in a lurch. He tried to reach out to his cousin, but he was busy these days and didn't have the time. Dillan realized that not only was the site outdated, the platform he'd used to make it was no longer supported!

 

His old website was unable to be revived and he didn't know the first thing about building a web page. The newer styles seemed so slick and complex, Dillan wasn't sure where to start. Dillan wanted to reaffirm his current customers and give them a simple place they could direct referrals.

 

"That really helps me get an idea of what we can do for you. Could you give me a little bit of information about your clients? I want to be able to picture the website from their point of view." Dillan answered and Louisa asked several more questions. His feelings of frustration with the do-it-yourself sites and the other web developers waned. Louisa was asking a lot of questions that he would have asked himself when deciding where next to go with his business. "We will create some samples and see what you would be interested in." she said. He was given a time frame and he agreed.

 

When they met to look at the samples, Dillan was astounded. They were far more than he would have been able to come up with. Dillan nodded feeling comradery from one entrepreneur to another. "It's a passion of mine to make marketing functional, practical, and looking great!" Dillan smiled and selected one of the samples.

 

Soon his new site was online, a world of difference from his former online presence. He felt proud of his new website and actually made some changes to his traditional marketing in the newspaper and in flyers. As time went on he was able to help his business to grow, many of the new members of the community trying out his services when they needed help. In fact, his business expanded and he was able to hire on more plumbers to help serve the people in his community.

 

Looking back a year later after a redesign of his marketing, and the assistance of Clayton Commercial Arts, he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. No. 2: Premise

 

The next step is to determine the story, message, or script for your video plan. The premise is how you intend to communicate with your viewer and move them to action. What are you trying to achieve? How do you want the viewer to react once they've watched your video?

 

The key here is to remember that online viewers have a very limited attention span, so you must keep this in mind when writing your script or formulating a message. Keep your video short and get to the point as quickly as possible in a clear, direct, and concise manner. Except for webinars, training videos, and so on, you may have noticed that most successful YouTube videos are less than three minutes in length.

 

No. 3: Platform

User understanding of the content of a website often depends on user understanding of how the website works. This is part of the user experience design. User experience is related to layout, clear instructions and labeling on a website. How well a user understands how they can interact on a site may also depend on the interactive design of the site. If a user perceives the usefulness of the website, they are more likely to continue using it. Users who are skilled and well versed with website use may find a more distinctive, yet less intuitive or less user-friendly website interface useful nonetheless. However, users with less experience are less likely to see the advantages or usefulness of a less intuitive website interface. This drives the trend for a more universal user experience and ease of access to accommodate as many users as possible regardless of user skill. Advanced interactive functions may require plug-ins if not advanced coding language skills. Choosing whether or not to use interactivity that requires plug-ins is a critical decision in user experience design. If the plug-in doesn't come pre-installed with most browsers, there's a risk that the user will have neither the know how or the patience to install a plug-in just to access the content. If the function requires advanced coding language skills, it may be too costly in either time or money to code compared to the amount of enhancement the function will add to the user experience. There's also a risk that advanced interactivity may be incompatible with older browsers or hardware configurations. Publishing a function that doesn't work reliably is potentially worse for the user experience than making no attempt. It depends on the target audience if it's likely to be needed or worth any risks.

 

Page layout

 

Part of the user interface design is affected by the quality of the page layout. For example, a designer may consider whether the site's page layout should remain consistent on different pages when designing the layout. Page pixel width may also be considered vital for aligning objects in the layout design. The most popular fixed-width websites generally have the same set width to match the current most popular browser window, at the current most popular screen resolution, on the current most popular monitor size. Fluid layouts increased in popularity around 2000 as an alternative to HTML-table-based layouts and grid-based design in both page layout design principle and in coding technique, but were very slow to be adopted. This was due to considerations of screen reading devices and varying windows sizes which designers have no control over. Accordingly, a design may be broken down into units (sidebars, content blocks, embedded advertising areas, navigation areas) that are sent to the browser and which will be fitted into the display window by the browser, as best it can. As the browser does recognize the details of the reader's screen (window size, font size relative to window etc.) the browser can make user-specific layout adjustments to fluid layouts, but not fixed-width layouts. Although such a display may often change the relative position of major content units, sidebars may be displaced below body text rather than to the side of it. This is a more flexible display than a hard-coded grid-based layout that doesn't fit the device window. In particular, the relative position of content blocks may change while leaving the content within the block unaffected. This also minimizes the user's need to horizontally scroll the page.
